What is an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a great way to gain a qualification whilst getting on the job training. You will be employed whilst learning and earning for the duration of your apprenticeship.

Most apprenticeships are between 1 and 5 years depending on the level of your apprenticeship and is funded by your employer and the government.

Who can apply to become an apprentice?

To be an apprentice you need;

  • To be over the age of 16 in England
  • Not in full-time education
  • Looking for a career-change
  • Looking to upskill in your current job

Apprenticeship Statistics

– 95 apprentices have started a rotational apprenticeship since 2019

87% of the Number of Starters are either still on the scheme, gained employment in a Health and Social Care (H&SC) setting or are continuing in education in a H&SC subject.

– First ICS in the Country to pilot a Physician Associate Apprenticeship. There are 11 PAAs currently in training in partnership with Keele University
