About us

The Integrated Care System (ICS) represents NHS, council, voluntary and community organisations, who are working in partnership to make ‘Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent the healthiest places to live and work’.

The ICS includes:

• Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust
• North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust
• University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust
• University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust
• Healthwatch
• VCSE – VAST and Support Staffordshire
• Primary Care Networks
• Staffordshire Fire
• Staffordshire Police
• West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust

The ICS is led by Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board (ICB), which is a statutory organisation that has responsibility for NHS functions and budgets, and an Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), which is a statutory committee, that brings together all system partners to produce and deliver the health and care strategy across the ICS.

Within the ICS, the partners will work with two local authority health and wellbeing boards, to plan and deliver services that meet the needs of local communities. Primary Care Networks, which are smaller groups of GP practices, also work at a local level to deliver care.

The key four aims of all ICSs are to:

Improve outcomes in population health and healthcare

Tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience, and access

Enhance productivity and value for money

Help the NHS to support broader social and economic development.

• Everyone has access to high-quality services wherever they live which helps to reduce inequalities

• You are helped to live independent and healthy lives as we promote community-centred care
• Health and social care professionals have access to more data and technology to inform decisions

• The best use of ​money and resources as we work closely as a health and care system.
