The Neonatal Families’ Coffee Morning is delivered by the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) Neonatal Lead in partnership with the University Hospital of North Midlands (UHNM) Neonatal Community Outreach Team (NCOT) and local neonatal services. Sessions are held twice a month and are open to families whose babies have received care on a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent within the last three years.

The coffee mornings provide a relaxed and welcoming space where parents and carers can meet other families who understand the challenges of the neonatal journey. Families are welcome to attend with their babies and siblings, including babies with ongoing needs such as oxygen or feeding tubes.

Many parents describe the period following discharge from neonatal care as overwhelming, with limited opportunities for ongoing support. These sessions aim to help reduce isolation, build peer support, and offer families the opportunity to share their experiences to help inform and improve neonatal care and support for others.
