Fire stations, supermarkets, a library and a cricket club – just some of the places you can get a Covid-19 vaccination this month in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

In addition to pharmacies and GP practices, the Targeted Vaccination Team is taking the vaccine out into the community to make it as easy as possible for local people to get their life-saving vaccination.

Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent residents are encouraged to take advantage of the local non-pharmacy walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics to boost their immunity and protect the most vulnerable in our community. These clinics provide a convenient and accessible way for eligible individuals to receive their COVID-19 vaccination, without the need for booking an appointment.

Lorna Clarson, Deputy Chief Medical Officer for the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board said: “Easy and convenient, walk-ins are a great alternative to a booked appointment. If you are eligible for a Covid-19 vaccination this winter, you can just turn up to one of our walk-in clinics and our friendly and professional team of clinicians will get you vaccinated there and then. You don’t need to make an appointment.

“Our vaccination programme continues to provide vital protection to local people. Keeping people safe is our priority so if you’re eligible we encourage you to have your Covid-19 and flu jabs if you haven’t done so already.

“Covid-19 is still circulating in the community and some people are becoming seriously unwell, and flu can be a really nasty illness for some people and can lead to hospital admission. However, the risk of becoming seriously unwell with Covid-19 or flu is hugely reduced by vaccination.”

You are eligible for a Covid-19 vaccination if you are:

  • Aged 65 years old or over (you need to be 65 years old by 31 March 2024)
  • Aged 6 months to 64 years old and are at increased risk
  • Living in a care home for older adults
  • A frontline health or social care worker
  • Aged 16 to 64 years old and are a carer
  • Aged 12 to 64 years old and live with someone with a weakened immune system
