Gordon Street Surgery is currently run by the East Staffordshire Primary Care Partnership, which has been providing GP services to patients on a temporary basis since May 2024.

The Integrated Care Board (ICB) needs to find a long-term provider for the GP services. This is called a “procurement” and means that we will run a competitive process between different providers to assess who is best placed to run the surgery in the future. To give us enough time to do this properly, the temporary contract with East Staffordshire Primary Care Partnership has been extended to May 2026, meaning the team will stay at the surgery until this time.

We want to make sure that the new provider suits the needs of the people registered at the practice. As such, we want to talk to patients and carers registered at the surgery to hear their views and experiences. We also want to hear about what they would like to see going forward.

An online survey is now open for patients to share their views and experiences with us:

If you need helping completing this survey, please call 0330 236 9059.

We are also holding two face-to-face meetings for people who would prefer to speak to us in person. These will take place on:

Wednesday 7 May from 10am until 11.30am

Thursday 8 May from 1.30pm until 3pm

Both events will take place at Princess Street Training Education Centre, 25-28 Princess Street, Burton-on-Trent, DE14 2NW. These sessions will be the same, so people only need to attend one.

To attend these events, please register online.

In addition to this, it has been confirmed that the practice will move back to its former premises at 72 Gordon Street, Burton-on-Trent, DE14 2JA on Monday 24 March 2025.

Patients do not need to do anything and will remain registered at Gordon Street Surgery. The phone number will stay the same (01283 563175). All patients are being contacted to let them know about this change. We want to assure patients that the current staff members will also be moving back to the old building and will continue to run the GP surgery until May 2026.

Patients who need further help can contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on freephone 0808 196 8861 or by emailing PatientServices@staffsstoke.icb.nhs.uk. PALS is open from 9am – 4pm, Monday – Friday (excluding bank holidays).
