Prior Approval Process

All secondary care fertility teams are to request prior approval for funding for assisted conception treatments, from the ICB, before they onward refer couples to tertiary services. Prior approval should be requested via Blueteq, where available. For those providers who have not used Blueteq previously or require additional support please email trust@blueteq.co.uk. You can also contact the ICBs IFR team who will be able to provide support re the process IFRTeam@staffsstoke.icb.nhs.uk

Couples are to be given information about all fertility treatment providers, commissioned by SSOT ICB, so that they can make an informed choice. This information can be found on the fertility webpage.

Prior approval numbers are unique to each request and must be shared with the onward referral, to the couples preferred assisted conception provider; treatments will only be funded by the ICB where a PA code can be evidenced.
