The current contract for general practice service provision at Burntwood Health and Wellbeing Centre (BHWC), High Street, Chasetown, Burntwood, WS7 3XH, came to a natural end in March 2024.

Burntwood estate provision has been developed substantially over recent years thanks to significant financial investment to support with the growth of housing developments. This includes the development of Greenwood Health Centre, in which Darwin Medical Centre now resides. In addition, Burntwood North development is due to be completed in the future.

A commissioning decision was made to disperse the patient list at BHWC when the contract ended. This decision was based on our priorities of ensuring the best services for patients, delivered from high quality, fit for purpose buildings with the right resources.

Patients registered with BHWC were contacted by letter in February 2023, to make them aware of this decision. Following this, patients registered at the surgery were sent a second letter in August 2023, and a further letter in January 2024, outlining the next steps and actions that patients needed to take before 31 March 2024 to register with another nearby GP surgery.
