The number of people using the NHS app to link up with their GP practice in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent continues to rise.

More than 500,000 people across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, around half of all registered patients, have downloaded the NHS App which marks a significant milestone in supporting patients to manage their health conveniently and securely.

The NHS App can be used to message GP practices, submit online consultation forms, access health records and book appointments.

Patients can submit a non-urgent enquiry through the app between 8am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday, and their GP practice will respond the same day. This reduces the need for phone calls or in-person visits for routine queries.

Dr Rachel Gallyot, Interim Chief Medical Officer at the NHS Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board (ICB), said: “The NHS App is transforming how patients interact with their GP practice.

“It’s quick, secure and helps us respond to non-urgent requests more efficiently and by using the app, you can avoid long waits on the phone and get the care you need faster.

“If you haven’t yet downloaded the app, please do so and take advantage of these convenient digital services.”

Search ‘NHS App’ in the Apple App Store or Google Play. You can use the app if you are aged 13 or over and registered with an NHS GP surgery in England or the Isle of Man.
