A new health and care careers podcast, which looks at the different entry routes into careers within Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System (ICS), has been launched this week.

The first episode of the ‘Journey to Work’ podcast interviews Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent students who are studying health and care T Levels about their experiences and advice for anyone wanting to study the qualification.

T Levels offer students, from 16 – 19 years old, practical and knowledge-based learning at a school or college and on-the-job experience through an industry placement of at least 315 hours – approximately 45 days.

The Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent ICS Health and Care People Team podcast was launched on T Level Thursday (13 February 2025) – a campaign to raise awareness and celebrate the successes of T Levels, part of National Apprenticeship Week (10 – 16 February 2025).

Chiamaka Kennedy, Project Manager, Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent ICS Health and Care People Team, said:

“Our ‘Journey to Work’ (J2W) podcast series is a targeted approach as part of our J2W programme, encouraging students and individuals to consider a career in health and care. As well as our launch episode talking to T Level students, we also have other T Level episodes coming up with education providers and employers.

“T Levels are just one of many entry routes into health and care careers, and we’ll be looking at the wide range of ways that people can start their careers in our system workforce in future episodes of ‘Journey to Work’ too.” You can listen to the podcast on the Health and Care People team Spotify account.
