East Staffordshire Primary Care Network (PCN) are celebrating after picking up the ‘Embedding Research Award’, at this years’ Clinical Research Network Awards.

Taking place at Grand Central in Wolverhampton, the awards recognise and celebrate the work and achievements of those involved delivering research from across the region.

East Staffordshire Primary Care Network is made up of all 18 GP practices in East Staffordshire and covers 150,000 patients, with a focus on local patient care.

The Primary Care Network appointed a Research Manager to enable efficient regional level participant identification for research, and to set up research structures and frameworks within the PCN.

Working closely with the CRN, they lead and managed the successful delivery of research studies across the entire Primary Care Network.

Dr Paul Edmondson-Jones, Chief Medical Officer for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board (ICB) said: “I am delighted to see the East Staffordshire PCN get this recognition – acknowledging their contribution to embedding a research culture cross the entire PCN. The ICB is very proud of the collaborative approach, communication, teamwork, and use of technologies, that the PCN has embraced.  They are an outstanding role model for other PCNs.”
