The NHS Digital Weight Management Programme supports adults living with obesity to manage their weight and improve thier health. To be eligible, you must also have a diagnosis of diabetes, high blood pressure, or both.

Who can be referred to the programme?

Speak to your GP or your local pharmacist to find out if you are elgible for the programme. Visit the NHS website to find out how to access the programme. You can also read more about the programme and watch a video.To be referred to the programe you must:

  • be 18 or over
  • have a BMI greater than 30. If you are from black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds, your BMI must be greater than 27.5 because people from these backgrounds are at an increased risk of conditions such as Type 2 diabetes at a lower BMI
  • have diabetes, high blood pressure or both
  • have a smartphone, tablet or computer with internet access.

If you do not have diabetes or high blood pressure, you may still benefit from the NHS Better Health programme.

I joined during the pilot phase – will I still have access?

Anyone who started the twelve-week programme during the pilot phase will continue to have access to online content for their twelve-week course.
