The act of Public Health is to prevent disease by improving people’s health and reducing health inequalities.

Public Health teams provide advice, information and services to the public and also to health and social care staff.

They work with colleagues from across the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent health and care system, and services include:

  • contraception and sexual health
  • drugs and alcohol support
  • emotional wellbeing support
  • health protection, for example coronavirus
  • stop smoking support
